🦷 Severe Toothache
Take ibuprofen or paracetamol (follow packet instructions) to manage pain until your appointment. Do not place aspirin directly on the tooth or gum. Call 01276 984356 — we will aim to see you the same day.
🦷 Knocked Out Adult Tooth
Handle by the crown only — never the root. Do not scrub or clean it. Keep it moist: place it back in the socket if possible, or keep it in milk or your own saliva. Call us immediately — time is critical for re-implantation.
🦷 Dental Abscess / Swelling
A dental abscess is an infection and will not resolve without treatment. Do not ignore facial swelling — if swelling affects your breathing or swallowing, go to A&E immediately. Otherwise call 01276 984356 — we aim to offer a same-day appointment.
🦷 Lost or Broken Filling / Crown
If you still have the crown, keep it safe. Avoid chewing on the affected side. Dental cement from a pharmacy can provide temporary protection. Call us — we will aim to arrange a same-day repair appointment.
🦷 Broken or Chipped Tooth
Rinse your mouth with warm water. If there is bleeding, apply gentle pressure with a clean cloth. Keep any broken fragments. Call 01276 984356 — we aim to assess and repair broken teeth the same day where possible.
🦷 Wisdom Tooth Pain
Wisdom tooth pain from impaction or infection can be severe. Gently clean the area with a soft brush and rinse with warm salt water. Ibuprofen can reduce inflammation. Call us to assess whether extraction or treatment is needed.
⚠ If you have facial swelling affecting your airway, difficulty swallowing or breathing, go to A&E or call 999 immediately. For all other dental emergencies, call Accord Dental Practice on 01276 984356 — do not go to A&E for dental pain as dentists are far better equipped to treat you.
